Antique Bedouin/Yemen Silver Bracelet, Screw Toggle, Coral, 6.25", 58.62 Grams, early 1900's, Habbiyat

$ 245.99

Antique Beduoin silver cuff bracelet - early 1900's.  Coin silver from Australian coins. , 1" wide and 58.62 gr., inside measurement is 6.25", for a slender wrist, signed, and opening is 2.25" by 2".  It is believed to have been made by  Jewish Yemeni silversmiths. The bracelet is unusual because it has the makers mark on the inside of the cuff in two places - I cannot make out that marking but it is stamped inside an elongated oval.   This bracelet is also unusual because it still has the coral or re d glass but believed coral,  filing the openings at the clasp.  I've seen similar bracelets - mostly missing their stones ranging up to $295.00.    The closure is a screw type and works well. It tests positive for silver.  Th is does have some wear but it is still a beauty with a history.  I got this out of Arizona.  Good condition for it's age, some wear and dings but still nice.  See photos.  (Lot Loc. A.2.217.7X - LD 8/29/17).

The store this came out of had this information:

Beautiful example of Yemeni middle eastern silversmith craft. This type of vintage Yemeni silver comes from the Maria Theresia Thaler coins, an Austrian coin widely used years ago on the Levant trade, where Yemen used to sell coffee beans in exchange for Silver and Red Coral. The Yemeni jewelers would melt these coins to create their fine jewelry pieces. This bracelet is well adorned with intricate beaded patterns and a silver enclosed cluster of red coral or red glass beads. There are two impressed makers mark on the inside of the bracelet. Circa early part of the 20th century. Measures 2.25" wide on the inside, the outside measures 2.75". Has a silver screw bolt clasp that holds the two parts of the bracelet together. In great condition. All handcrafted.

I carry mostly vintage jewelry across all themes in my stores and listings.  I am currently  stampshopgirl in Ebay and have been since I think 2003.  I transitioned from rubber stamping to vintage jewelry about six years ago and also carry other vintage items and am trying to change my presence to marias vintage and estate treasures.  You may see both names until the transition is complete.  You can find me on pinterest where all my ebay items are categorized - mariasvinta0654

 I DO NOT STORE FINE METALS AND GEMSTONES ON PREMISES. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT QUESTIONS MAY NOT BE ABLE TO BE ANSWERED IMMEDIATELY. THANK YOU.

Thank you for stopping by,  mariasvintage.

Please note that most of my photos are taken at 10X magnification. This shows any blemishes much more magnified than they really are.

I keep great notes about each item and can answer most questions quickly, but I do not store fine jewelry on premises, so answers about specific measurements may take some time as I arrange to inspect the piece again.

In addition to this website, Maria's Vintage, I am on eBay as stampshopgirl, on Etsy as stampshopgirl, and on StorEnvy as Maria's. I have many vintage jewelry items and other vintage and new items - a very wide variety.

I will combine shipping, even if you buy items from one of my other stores. If you purchase one item and know you’ll be picking more, just email me and let me know and I will ship them at the same time and refund the shipping over the combined limit.

Given the number of different items I carry it is hard to know what combination of items can be purchased to pre-plan the shipping, so just email me and we will work it out to save you shipping charges whenever possible.
