Vintage 14kt Gold Wide Hinged Clamper Bracelet, Engraved Ethnic/Damascene, Safety Chain, 14mm, 6"
Vintage 1940's 14kt gold Hinged Clamper Bracelet which is Engraved and Enameled similar to ethnic/ damascene. This is a 14mm wide bracelet that weight a hefty 22.45 grams. Thickness is at 3.2 grams. This is for a slender wrist at 6" - The opening is 2.25" from side-to-side and 1.75" from front-to-back. It does have some wear with a little dent on the inside. It does have wear but is still in good condition and is a very nice quality piece with a grooved thumb button at the opening. The button takes a little practice but once you figure out how to open it, it is easier. It is a secure latch and the hinge is also in good condition, not floppy. The design is a scrolled and geometric design that reminds me of something ethnic but cannot put my finger on the exact pattern - sort of Russian, Ukrainian, perhaps even Egyptian. I got this piece in Pennsylvania at a sale along with an authentic Tiffany clamper bracelet and a Milor Italian chain bracelet that are also listed. Photos do not do it justice. It has some typical wear given it's age but still good condition or better. While there are similar ones out there - I've only found a few - this appears to be a more rare design and back in the day, this was made for the rich. This was not a bracelet everyone could afford.
