Vintage 14kt Solid Gold Victorian Key Charm or Pendant, Pearls & Gemstones, 5.09 gr., 1.14", Ornate
Vintage 1940-1950's 14kt Solid Gold Ornate Victorian Skeleton Key Charm or Pendant. It has a faceted oval stone on each side, one side looks like aquamarine, with a small seed pearl on either side and the other a oval garnet with a small seed pearl on either side. I do not know if the faceted stones are natural or created - they are very clean stones which can point more to created. The blue stone does have a chip or wrinkle look which is why it could be created/glass. It is not visible easily to they eye but you can see it with a loupe. The colored stones are set-back-to-back and therefore interfere with inspection of the stones. They faceted stones are appx 7.5mm by 5mm. The pearls are almost 3mm. The length is 1.25" long - slightly over and the widest point is 3/4". The key has scrolled and ornate accents and is a whopping 5.09 grams which is a heavier charm than what you see now. It is signed 14kt CG on the end of the key. It has also been tested. Other than the little blemish on the blue stone it is in very good condition - especially for it's age. I've seen similar ones ranging from $650 to $750.00. I so others less than that but they do not match this in weight or length or detail. This would be great as a charm or a pendant.
This was part of a charm bracelet belonging to a woman from Pennsylvania/New Jersey that had a very nice 14kt gold charm bracelet. She was born in 1928 and the charms are truly vintage charms. I have 11 charms in all and some with gemstones. (The others are: Hinged and opening Bible, telephone, hear/speak/see no evil, cross with heart and anchor, praying hands, a vintage mechanical typewriter with gemstones, Christmas tree, and square dancers). The bracelet is by Pomerantz and is locking and 9mm wide, triple link and also either will be offered here or in Etsy where I can be found at mariasvintage2.com or sellername stampshopgirl but most will be here in our own store. This charm has typical wear and jump ring is attached (but solder had to be cut to remove from bracelet). It is in very good condition. Came from a PA estate. See photos. Photos are magnified so things will appear larger than they are and they are likely in better condition than the photos depict due to the magnification. They are never enhanced.
Thank you for stopping by.
Please note that most of my photos are taken at 10X magnification. This shows any blemishes much more magnified than they really are.
I keep great notes about each item and can answer most questions quickly, but I do not store fine jewelry on premises, so answers about specific measurements may take some time as I arrange to inspect the piece again.
In addition to this website, Maria's Vintage, I am on eBay as stampshopgirl, on Etsy as stampshopgirl, and on StorEnvy as Maria's. I have many vintage jewelry items and other vintage and new items - a very wide variety.
I will combine shipping, even if you buy items from one of my other stores. If you purchase one item and know you’ll be picking more, just email me and let me know and I will ship them at the same time and refund the shipping over the combined limit.
Given the number of different items I carry it is hard to know what combination of items can be purchased to pre-plan the shipping, so just email me and we will work it out to save you shipping charges whenever possible.
